I was just in Los Angeles from last Thursday until yesterday, when I arrived at 12AM in St. Louis. I brought my camera along with me, but I was really focused on chilling out as hard as I could while I was there, so I didn't really take any pictures. The three above are what I thought were worth posting. The first is after a stand up comedy show performed by Adam Carolla. That is him in the middle, I'm to the right and my friend Bryan is on the left. The second is the Hollywood sign, shot by my cell phone from the roof of a Home Depot in Hollywood. If you're ever in Hollywood and want a good view of the sign, find the Home Depot there and get on the roof. This crappy cell phone shot doesn't do it justice, but then again, what cell phone camera does anything justice? The third is in the "mountains" north of Malibu. We drove up the PCH to Malibu on our way to see Adam Carolla's show, and this was on the way. Other things that were also on the way, Venice Beach, shitty LA traffic, California girls (who I've fallen in love with), Malibu, and a car dealership that exclusively sold first generation Ford Broncos. Let it be known that driving through Mailbu was like driving through paradise. If I ever win the lottery, hopefully it's enough to buy a home on the beach in Malibu.
If you were expecting to see a bunch of pictures from the trip, sorry. I spent my time doing absolutely nothing, and drinking. I also made a trip down to San Diego for a night, I got the budget tour of Hollywood from my buddy, that consisted of him driving down Sunset Blvd. and Hollywood Blvd., making a stop in Beverly Hills to take a piss, then hitting the 405 to go to Hermosa Pier for a night of partying. I drove down to Huntington Beach for a day and watched some surfers from the pier and chilled at the beach in hopes of picking up a cute surfer girl. Also, the first night I was there, I was presented with a scratch off ticket by Bryan and a friend he'd made since living there. Apparently when they buy booze, they buy scratchers (specifically, "Hot 500s"). I won $500. No, really. It made the trip much better, because I could spend money however I damn well pleased at that point and I'm pleased to announce that the last of it was spent Monday night at the bar on a round of beers for the two dudes mentioned.
Well, that was way more words than needed. Theme of the story: I want to move to Los Angeles. Chance of that happening? 70%. Probably next fall.
A 1989 Toyota Supra turbo. This car has caused me a fair bit of grief, but I still love it. So much that it's the longest I've ever owned a car, a whopping 2 years.
Well, I was goofing around on the internet and came across an old Toyota Supra commercial. Being the current owner of a 1989 Supra Turbo (one that has brought me both great joy and furious anger) and former owner of several RX-7's, I decided to dig deeper. I was able to scrounge up a handful of commercials for a couple different generations of each. I'm sure I could find more if I really tried, but I'm content with these for now.
Anybody that knows me knows I have an obsession with Japanese sports cars of the 80's and 90's, so I was excited to watch these commercials. If you're an enthusiast like I am, I hope you too can enjoy them. I love these cars and see myself tinkering with them for years to come.
It's disappointing to know that you can't find these in high definition anywhere.
